Mozilla Java Problems

I'm having some problems getting Java to work in Mozilla (1.6). I've
downloaded the newest JRE from Sun and I've tried creating a symbolic
link from the download folder into the Mozilla folder. The Java 2
Plug-in for Linux (.xpi file) was "installed successfully" as well but
still no positive results. Any additional advice/resources would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
