Gnome question

Have a quick question that should be quick to solve but seeing as how i
do not have GUI access at the moment i will post the question here:

When running gnome, i setup a launcher shortcut in the panel for Rxvt to
replace the standard gnome-terminal term. Now the annoyance is after
launching rxvt from the launcher it starts up fine but in the window
list it keepsan entry labeled "Starting Terminal" for about 15 seconds
with a busy mouse cursor.

My question is how can i make these go away?
