Computer Hangs / Locks Up

Sounds like it might be hardware related. First, I would go to:

	http://www.memtest86.com/#download0

and download the iso for memtest86 v3.0, burn the iso image to cd, and
boot from it. Let it run for at least 5 passes. If you don't have access
to a burner, there is a version that will boot and run from a floppy.

Look at /var/log/messages and go to the date and time of the hang and
see if you see any errors. You could post those here.

Look at /var/log/XFree86.0.log

Try typing  dmesg   and looking for anything unusual there.

You might also do a:

	lspci

and post the results.
