They're not intended as flames. The reason for not top posting is simple
- it prevents confusion.

Say you asked for three pieces of similar advice or advice which could
be easily confused. If someone responded at the top rather than after
each questions/point then someone at the other gets confused, screws
things up and then spends more time unscrewing things up.

If you answer in context (i.e. after a point) it saves time, removes
confusion and is far simpler to understand.

You'll also find more people willing to help
