kernel 2.6 questions????

There were several changes made to the 2.6 kernel. The one change that 
concerns X was that "/dev/psaux" was disabled and you need to manually 
change the entry in your XFree86config file to point to "/dev/input/mice"

The issue regarding the filesystems might be related to changes to the 
2.6 kernel after the *-81 (development version). If you are using 
reiserfs volumes, this might be the problem that you are seeing. If you 
are not running reiserfs voumes, I don't know what is causing your 
particular lockup.

As for sound problems with the 2.6 kernel, this has to be cnfigured with 
alsa (in the kernel). You have to figure out which module is used for 
your card though. Also, it is defaulted as muted or slide bars are down 
on the mixer. You might need to open up your sound mixer and adjust the 
controls to your particular desires.
