Ctrl-Alt-BckSpce is used to restart the X Server not kill it. If you want to get to a text prompt
either login on a VT (Ctrl-alt-Vt[1-6]) or run 'init 3' as root to switch to run level 3 from your
X session. 'init 5' to start up X again.

Not sure what you mean. You think Ctrl-Alt-BSpce is an altered form of
Ctrl-Alt-Del? They perform two different functions. c-a-b restarts X,
c-a-d restarts the computer.
