Your yum.conf is wrong (incompatible with the actual tree layout on the
server and mirrors for FC1 Extras). Correct your 'baseurl=' entries and
replaces all occurences of '$basearch/RPMS.' with '$basearch/yum/'
(without the quotes!) e.g. instead of

baseurl=http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/fedora/fedora/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/RPMS.stable

write

baseurl=http://mirrors.usc.edu/pub/linux/fedora/fedora/fedora/$releasever/$basearch/yum/stable
