SMP kernel 435 and 435.2.3 - hang on boot

Hello,

Kernel smp "2.6.6-1.435.2.1" succesfully boot on my HP Proliant DL580G2 (two
Xeons) but I compile it from an src.rpm (rpmbuild -bb) directly on the
concerned server before booting ...

Is anyone having any luck booting the 435 build smp kernels? I'm finding
both hanging on boot. 3 GHz Xeon and a D875PBZ motherboard. Any pointers
gratefully received.
