HFS Plus R/W Mounting Problem

I'm trying to mount my iPod on FC2 as a read/write hfs plus file system.  My
fstab entry looks like:
/dev/sdb3    /mnt/ipod    hfsplus    noauto,user,rw,sync,umask=000    0 0
Sometimes it mounts as read/write but other times its just read only.  I've
checked that the access mode of /dev/sdb3 is 666.
 
Is this a problem with sbp2, or an hfsplus issue?  How do I make it mount as
read/write every time?
