Have you successfully accessed your filesystem in the meantime ?
Maybe your filesystem is destroyed. I've once had the same problem years
ago. If the filesystem is destroyed, the kernel can not find an init
binary, of course. You should try to mount it with a rescue system, for
example (boot with the FC2 install CD and type 'linux rescue' at the
boot prompt) and check, whether the filesystem is consistent at all.
