Configuring newsgroups in Pan

You will first have to configure a server to use. That is to find under
"tools" (think that is the English menu name, I just have German). Then
you need to get the list of all available groups of that server. You
subscribe a specific group by right mouse clicking on the group name and
choosing that option.
