First , you have to check your /boot/grub/device.map , and ensure that
it has two definitions for HDs... hd0 for /dev/hda and hd1 for /dev/hdb.
Then , you need to put this on your grub.conf:

default=0
timeout=10
splashimage=(hd1,0)/boot/grub/splash.xpm.gz
title Fedora Core (2.6.6-1.435.2.3)
       root (hd1,0) #this is needed.. Otherwise grub doesnt know the
relative paths..
       kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.6-1.435.2.3 ro root=/dev/hdb1 rhgb quiet
acpi=off
       initrd /boot/initrd-2.6.6-1.435.2.3.img
title Windows XP
       rootnoverify (hd0,0)
       chainloader +1
       makeactive

This should do the trick..
