You did compile it wrong. As you see from the CAPABILITIES line you have
LOGINDISABLED. So you can't use login. It has to be like on FC1:

* OK [CAPABILITY IMAP4REV1 LOGIN-REFERRALS STARTTLS AUTH=LOGIN]
localhost.localdomain IMAP4rev1 2003.338rh at Thu, 10 Jun 2004 20:12:01
+0200 (CEST)

You will have to reread the uw-imap documentation. Not that hard to
google, like:
