DVD device /dev/dvd missing on FC2

Most media players assume the existence of a device called /dev/dvd. 
However that device is not created by default...  You have two choices:
1) Change the preferences of the media player to point to the "real"
device name or 2) create a symbolic link to /dev/dvd from the real
device "ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/dvd" presuming the DVD drive is called
/dev/hdc (as it was in my case).
