Logitech MX700 Support

I would like to find out if anyone knows what level of
support will be added in Core 2 for the MX700 mouse,
especially in the GUI setup?

I have learned that the 2.6 kernel will include
support for this mouse. It would be nice to be able to
select this mouse under the 'Logitech' choices from
within Gnome.

Would it be possible to 'request' this on the
developer's mailing list?
