Mike, if no one has helped you on this, the problem you are having is that the dazzle is not seen as a single device, but as 4 independent devices when it is recognized. It not only requires that your system be able to load the usb-storage module, but that your kernel also be recompiled to "probe all luns" on a scsi chain.

I have a 4 in 1 dazzle card reader when i plug it in linux finds it when 
i try to mount it i receive an error /dev/sda1 in not a valid block device.
