Command Line applet problems

I have a couple of problems with the Command Line app in the Gnome panel.

Firstly, if I have my window preferences set to "Select windows when the 
mouse moves over them" I can't enter text into the Command Line.

Secondly, there doesn't appear to be an obvious way to remove it from the 
panel - it has it's own pop-up menu which overrides the panel pop-up menu 
with the Remove from Panel option.

Does anyone know how to overcome these problems?
