Group Membership....

I have a silly question;
    Does the root (group) have special privileges like the root (user)?
    If so, what are they?

    An example: The root user is able to modify any file!
        Is the root (group) also allowed to act as a member regardless of
the current group setting?

I'm asking; because I know the difference between groups and users but, was
just wondering if the root group has some special privileges.

Thanks,
James Kosin
