Hang During Install

Alexander,
  The other replies you've gotten are all very good. The only thing I'd
add is that if you can't find out what you need by switching virtual 
terminals (with <CTRL>+<ALT>+<F1>, etc.) try to do just a text install. 
Come back here with whatever errors you're getting, and someone should 
be able to help.
  Also, once you've used <CTRL>+<ALT>+<F1> to get out of X, you can drop 
the <CTRL> key and just use <ALT>+<F1> to <ALT>+<F6> to switch consoles.

<F2> = shell
<F3> = what's going on
<F4> = errors should show up here, although no everything here is an error
<F7> = this takes you back to GUI
