How-to set up weekly backup onto a separate HDD?

I read the previous read tlaking about backups and I found another which was seeming good.
But I will go with mondorescue, it seems to be perfect for my need, and the mindi live cd seems great... and I think it must be reliable regarding the name of the companies allready using it...
