One thing which I would recommend you *not* do is spend money on the 
Linksys BEFVP41, the allegedly Cisco VPN compatible router. I want to 
use kernel 2.6 on an SMP machine and thought it would be worth spending 
the money for a hardware solution since the software client says that it 
doesn't support SMP or kernel 2.6.

Well, the Linksys is crap, it looses its connection and needs to be 
reset twice a day and, despite it saying "VPN Router" on the box, didn't 
come with any instructions on how to use it with Cisco's VPN (and Cisco 
now owns LinkSys, they even have their logo on the box.) In fact it 
doesn't mention VPN setup anywhere. The HTML based UI is agonizingly 
slow and the VPN parameters don't match Cisco's software based VPN 
configuration. Total waste of money.
