yum upgrade to FC2

Just a bit irritating then, when the manpage for yum states

* upgrade [package1] [package2] [...] *deprecated* this command may be
       removed in the future.

and in a couple of previous postings here on the list that was
emphasised too.

What is the current state of yum upgrade / update then?
