vmware 4.5.1 and FC2 - keyboard problem

I got this same error. The workaround is to edit ~/.vmware/preferences
and add the line:
xkeymap.usekeycodeMap = "TRUE"

I got this tip somewhere that I don't remember and it was supposed to
solve another problem... anyway it worked...
