FC2: lefthanded mouse doesn't work

Wait a minute, I just thought of something - have you checked the logs
for error messages? Also, have you tried

xmodmap -e "pointer = 3 2 1 4 5"

instead? I remember having similar problems at one point when I had
defined a wheel mouse...
