I have problem with the sound . The module (snd-via82xx) is loaded , 
mixer is ok but i have no sound.
In fact there is sound but it's some noise.
I tried with the tips in you message but there is no effect.
I had no problems in Fedora Core 1 and kernel 2.6.x.
