set drag and drop in KDE

Drag and drop functionality in KDE seems to be broken with regards to 
gvim. Dragging stuff from Konqueror or the Desktop into an open gvim 
window does nothing, the cursor shows a circle/slash icon indicating 
you cannot drop there. This convenient and helpful feature works fine 
on other systems and used to work in RH.

Can anyone tell me how to go about diagnosing this problem? I already 
filed a bug but maybe there is a way to tell KDE/Qt what is a legal 
drop-able window and what isn't?
