How to check bad sectors at Fedora at new installation

Yes, because it was causing far more problems than it was helping.

Prior to installation, boot from CD and enter rescue, where it can be
ran from the shell prompt as "badblocks". It has been months since I
did that, so please reference the manual for more info, unless someone
else is willing to contribute here.
