memtest86: ECC disabled?

I just ran memtest86 on my machine to check everything was okay. One
thing puzzled me as I didn't know what it meant -- can someone enlighten
me? Displayed in the memtest86 screen is the line:

Chipset: Intel i845 (ECC : Disabled) / FSB : 99Mhz

I had a look through my BIOS and couldn't see a setting for ECC. What is
it and should it be disabled, or should I go back through the BIOS and
see if it can be enabled?
