FC3 - yum.conf and yum.repos.d files

What is the difference between using several lines of local mirrors with 
baseurl, and using a local mirrorlist (as in 
http://fedoranews.org/tchung/yum-mirrorlist/) consisting of local 
mirrors with mirrorlist? Any reason chosing one over the other?
