OT: Scanning Slides under FC[123]

A flatbed scanner will most likely not deliver desirable results, Ie
you'd probably want a dedicated (and expensive) slide scanner.

I went another, simpler path and "took pictures" of my slides. I used
the idea of eg this site
(http://www.photosolve.com/main/product/xtendaslide/index.html) and put
the slides in front of my digital camera essentially using a macro
adapter and some mechanical holder. The quality is perfect (well, as
good as the quality of your digital camera of course. Just remember to
do manual white balance or you end up with lots of corrections to do).

Google and you'll find quite a few manufacturers which offer this kind
of hardware. Alternatively build your own -- for only a few slides, a
PVC pipe painted black, hot glue, a threaded filter ring and a slide
viewer could be all you need.
