It does look like a bug in the man page to me. Line 5 in the example
below (from the man page) shows your syntax should work, but it has
never worked that way for me. I have always had to indicate the host
being exported to in some way -- either by name, IP, or wildcard.
EXAMPLE
# sample /etc/exports file
/ master(rw) trusty(rw,no_root_squash)
/projects proj*.local.domain(rw)
/usr *.local.domain(ro) @trusted(rw)
/home/joe pc001(rw,all_squash,anonuid=150,anongid=100)
/pub (ro,insecure,all_squash)
