Can't turn off selinux

The "Security Level" gui won't launch, so I tried
"system-config-securitylevel" from the command line and got a stack
trace that ends with

File "/usr/share/system-config-securitylevel/", line
418, in loadBooleans
IndexError: list index out of range

I'm guessing it's parsing a config file that doesn't have the value it expects?

are to stand by the president, right or wrong, is not only unpatriotic and
servile, but is morally treasonable to the American public." -- Teddy Roosevelt
