how to connect to internet by using Speedtouch Usb adsl modem

i have downloaded the package named speedtouchconf and installed
it(copy the microcode from windows system).everytime when the system
starts eth0 can not be activated but the adsl is connected
successfully.however after startup the web browser can not open any
url which indicates that there is no internet connection. what's wrong
with that? i have tried this package on redhat linux9.0 and fc2.can
any one help me?
