xsane and apmsleep on FC3

Hi,

Can't get apmsleep working -- says kernel not configured for this. Any ideas? I
have a Dell Latitude C850 laptop. 

Also, xsane does not recognize any scanning devices. I have the HP PSC 2410
Photosmart all-in-one and it worked great with FC2. The printer is recognized
all right, so connection should be an issue. Any suggestions?
