[fedora] UIDs and GIDs

hi

if i manually edit UIDs and GIDs in /etc/passwd, /etc/group will that cause
any problems?
for instance if i have a user with UID and GID of 515/515 and then change it
to 510/510.

i'm just curious since i have deleted some users and there where some "free"
UIDs and GIDs so to make it look better i thought of changing them so it
goes from 500-510...

another reason is that i'm going to install a new server and move users from
the old server to new server (preserving userdata and passwds etc) so i
though this may be a reasonable time to clean up users that is no longer in
use.
