Sound lost when KDE is installed (FC2)

Hello,

I installed and updated KDE on a FC2 machine and lost my sound
capabilities.  Removing KDE and its dependents hasn't restored it.
The soundcard is a SB Audigy, and it worked very well before the KDE
installation.  The volume/mixer settings are fine.
