Carlo Orecchia has been having problems with choppy sound in Real Player.

And this is interesting. What it's showing us is that the processor is
essentially unused. It rules out a number of problems.
I know that you've said you've had the problems with Real Player. Do you
have similar problems in other media players?

You're using the built-in native drivers. They're supposed to be pretty
good.
