cant mount drive

I tried it that way now but now I get a different error. I just cant get
a break today

mount -t iso9660 -o noauto,owner,kudzu,ro dev/cdrom /mnt/cdrom
mount: special device dev/cdrom does not exist

i know dev/cdrom does exist so i'm not sure why its giving that error.
