Samba troubles

For several days, I have been unable to connect from Linux machine (FC2)
to Windows machine (98SE) or vice versa.


Testparm tells me my smb.conf file is ok.


Smbclient -L machinename yields NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE 


This is my smb.conf file:

Googling including the Fedora archives proved useless.

-mail and Internet access works so it does not seem to be a hardware
problem.
