The hdc=ide-scsi route is a blind alley. Don't go down it.
It used to be needed for actually burning CDs. Now it isn't. There are a
number of other things you'd need to get that working. It's not going to
help.
When you've automounted a CD-RW, can you run the mount command and send
it to the list?
