Gnome menu editing in FC2

Does anyone know if GNOME menu editing will be turned on in FC3? I
understand that GNOME 2.8 modified (fixed?) the menu editing. This is
the one issue I have with Red Hat/Fedora. I'm getting sick of editing
.desktop files.

I would have switched to Mandrake as they have their own menu editor,
but they are a GNOME release behind. Also, I hate their icons.
