Freevo full screen

I'm not sure it is the right place to ask this question but it seems to
be a problem especially with fc2.
When i try to run freevo -fs (full screen) from an X session i obtain
this answer : 
Xlib: connection to ":1.0" refused by server 
Xlib: No protocol specified
and nothing appear except a black screen and i have to kill the process.
What is wrong ? Why it doesn't work ?
