See above, because it is a hyperthreading CPU it is treated as 2 CPUs.
It is correct but can too arise problems.

You can first try to find an option in the BIOS of your system to
disable the hyperthreading. If not available then try as kernel boot
parameter "acpi=noht". To do so press "a" at grub boot screen and enter
"3" and then append the above string to the kernel line. All without
quotes, I just used them to make the things clearer.
