was doing an update - yum

hi all
was doing an update in yum, all seemed happy and downloaded everything
that was required and started to install, then the following error
occurred;

Running test transaction:
memory alloc (8 bytes) returned NULL.

then returned to root, end of progress, no more information given,
no more done
i have fc2 x86_64
3200+ with 512mb on k8tneo-fis2r

might run update again and see what happens
any help advice appreciated
