What do you get from:
# ls -l /dev/hd[a-d]
I get:
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 0 Feb 23 2004 /dev/hda
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 3, 64 Feb 23 2004 /dev/hdb
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 22, 0 Feb 23 2004 /dev/hdc
brw-rw---- 1 root disk 22, 64 Feb 23 2004 /dev/hdd
Can you confirm that there is no reference to ide-scsi in your /etc/grub.conf
entry for this kernel, nor in /etc/modprobe.conf?
Paul.
