Removing Firefox extensions

Hi all:

I recently downloaded some extensions (plugins) for Firefox and find I want to 
remove a couple of them.  I've drilled through the folders where I thought 
they might be stored but can't find them.

FC4t1 w/kernel 2.6.11-1.1191_FC4smp
kde 3.4.0-0.rc1.4 Red Hat
Firefox 1.0.1

How are plugins stored?  Do they become part of inline code or are they put in 
some obscure location?  Do I need to remove Firefox and then reinstall it?
