The compiler has got better, I think you'll find... bad things that were
silently ignored in previous versions now get you an error. And that's
a good thing rather than a bad thing.
Usually whenever I see problems like this and look into the code, I see
what the compiler is complaining about. I would either try to fix their
problems to get it to compile or bounce it to the source code maintainer
with a list of the errors and warnings.
