Grub is gone after upgrade to KDE 3.4

Its the default KDE3.4 screen. I think it sstarted now with another
windowmanager or something.
I cant also get back the old screen with the options at the bottom. Its now
a ugly grey box in the middle of the screen with options as a dropdown menu.
