CD-Burner not immediately detected

hello paul,

nope. the box that can't detect it is my own desktop and i just did a
clean install earlier. the box that is able to detect it is one of our
servers and it's pretty much updated.

i'll try to update udev, hal, and kernel. are there other packages
that may be suspect?
