Hi All, with only wanting to infrequently share files between 2 boxes, I went with just creating an identical account, with UID/GID manually set, on each machine, and used straight NFS. I felt NIS was a little overkill for what I wanted, but, I'm glad someone pointed me in it's direction, for future reference. Cheers. Mark Sargent.
